If like me you brew and ferment, you'll have come across the sticky glue you find on the sauce bottles and jam jars that you've saved from recycling, and then when you wash them only to find that residue of the sticky glue from the label won't come off!
This is the recipe that I use for removing any heavy stickers off glass jars and bottles of all kinds. If you choose to use this on any other surface make sure that you do a patch test first to ensure you don't cause any damage.
Glue Away
Ingredients
4 tsp coconut oil
2 tsp baking soda
4 or 5 drops sweet orange, grapefruit or lemon oil
What You'll Need...
Dish Cloth - I use the crochet cloths I've made myself or thick dusting rags.
Now To Make...
You can mix all ingredients together and store in an airtight jar, but I prefer to make it fresh as it's quite easy and the ingredients are always in my cupboard.
How To Use...
Remove as much of the label as you can by soaking the jar or bottle in soapy water and then dry. Once dry, apply the mixture over the sticky / glued part of the remaining sticker and glue and leave for an hour. This will allow the mixture to work more efficiently.
Make sure to do a patch test on the surface to ensure that the surface you are working on looks the way you want it to. This is because the baking soda can cause small abbrasions on poorer quality glass and plastic.
Many blessings
