Hunting the Dandelion - A Spring Fling
Spring is the time when dandelions are abundant in nature as a tonic to help us detox our livers after winter and to aid our digetion and enhance the microbiome of our gut.
Every part of this common weed from the roots to the blossoms is edible. It’s a good thing too, as the humble dandelion is bursting with vitamins A, B, C and D, as well as minerals such as iron, potassium and zinc.
The leaves boast more beta carotene than carrots and the greens provide 535% of the recommended daily value of vitamin K, which is vital for strengthening bones while the root and leaf manages cholesterol levels.
Dandelion extract boosts immune function and fights off microbes.
So join the Spring Fling and learn all there is to know about this abundant and under estimated herb. Surprise your family and friends with the most delicious and nutritious free Spring food you will find.
